Defining Hypervisors and Nodes

A hypervisor or node (these terms mean the same) is a single physical server that hosts multiple virtual private servers (VPS).
RackNerd operates hundreds of physical nodes/hypervisors within each datacenter location.
We maintain rigorous standards for our status page updates. Any service disruption, even if limited to a single node among hundreds in a location, is promptly reported on our status page to ensure full transparency.
In our commitment to full transparency, we diligently report all known issues or maintenance activities on this status page, even if it is a scheduled maintenance or a non-customer impacting event. This ensures you have comprehensive, up-to-date information about our infrastructure status at all times.

Interpreting Status Meanings

"Operational": This means all nodes are fully operational. There are no service disruptions on any of the physical servers in the respective location.
"Partial Outage": This typically indicates an issue with one or a small number of hypervisors in a location, not the entire datacenter. 99% of the time, this affects only a single hypervisor/node out of our entire infrastructure in that location. In such a case, most customers in that location are unaffected.
"Major Outage": This rare status indicates an issue affecting the entire location.

Important Notes

Individual hypervisor issues are not indicative of a location's overall performance. Most incidents remain isolated to specific node(s) without impacting the entire facility.
If you suspect there is an issue and the location is marked as operational, please read this guide.

Los Angeles DC-02 Partial Network Outage - Los Angeles DC-02

We are aware of a partial network outage in Los Angeles DC-02 impacting a number of our VPS nodes. We are currently investigating further into this.

You may experience intermittent connectivity during this time. We will update this status incident once we have this fully resolved.

Los Angeles DC-02 Outage-LAXSSD830nerd2DC02

We are aware that LAXSSD830nerd2DC02 is currently experiencing connectivity issues. We are currently looking into this node further and will provide additional updates on this matter once we have more information.

We are aware that P36LAKVMDC01 (one KVM VPS Node in Los Angeles DC-01) is experiencing hardware issues.

On-site datacenter technicians are currently investigating this further.

We are currently investigating a network carrier level related issue with some San Jose VPS nodes of ours: SJ102KVM, SJ116KVM, SJ117KVM,SJ144KVM,SJ131KVM,SJ141KVM,SJ126KVM,SJ123KVM,SJ132KVM,SJ136KVM,SJ139KVM,SJ150KVM

Services hosted within these nodes are online and accessible, but may experience degraded performance. Network engineers upstream are actively working on these nodes.

Chicago Datacenter Scheduled Maintenance: CHIRYZEN105

Scheduled maintenance for CHIRYZEN105 (one Ryzen KVM VPS Node in Chicago) is about to commence. Affected customers were sent an e-mail notification with advance notice (and details) in anticipation of this scheduled maintenance event.

We will update this status incident once the scheduled maintenance window has been concluded.

San Jose Datacenter Outage - SJ123KVM (One KVM VPS Node in San Jose)

We are aware that SJ123KVM (one KVM VPS node in San Jose) is currently not accessible.

We are currently looking into this node further.

UPDATE: This was a network routing issue with one of the network carriers in the network blend (Telia) - this has now been resolved. If you’re still experiencing any issues accessing your VM on SJ123KVM feel free to open a support ticket and we’d be happy to assist.

San Jose Datacenter Outage-SJ151KVM (One KVM VPS Node in San Jose)

We are aware that SJ151KVM (one KVM VPS Node in San Jose) is currently experiencing connectivity issues. We are currently looking into this node further and will provide additional updates on this matter once we have more information.

UPDATE: We are still troubleshooting this machine physically, with the help of on-site datacenter technicians. We will share another update shortly. Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE: The server is currently on the workbench, and on-site datacenter technicians are still investigating into the issue with SJ151KVM.
