We are currently investigating a widespread facility outage affecting our Dublin (Ireland) location. As a result, services in this location may be unreachable. This incident is not isolated to RackNerd, and is affecting multiple tenants within the same datacenter.
Our datacenter and network provider has been notified and is actively investigating the situation on their end. We are closely monitoring the issue and will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience while the facility works toward resolution.
UPDATE: This is now resolved. If you are still experiencing any issues please open a support ticket and we'd be happy to assist.
Reason for Outage (RFO):
Due to an issue with Cogent, an external network outage occurred at our Dublin (Ireland) location, impacting all external connectivity, including customer servers and management access.
During the incident, internal systems remained powered and the local network infrastructure stayed operational. The datacenter team was promptly mobilized, and technicians were dispatched on-site to assess the situation.
Once temporary access was restored, the team identified the root cause as an outage with one of the upstream network providers (in this case, Cogent). Due to a configuration issue, traffic continued routing toward the affected provider instead of failing over as intended.
The configuration was corrected, and traffic was successfully rerouted through an alternate network carrier in Dublin (Zayo). Full service was restored promptly, bringing all customer services and management access back online. Power uptime is not affected and customer servers did not need to be rebooted.
We apologize for the inconvenience this disruption may have caused and appreciate your patience.
