Seattle Datacenter Host Node Migration - SEA100KVM to SEA142KVM

Unfortunately, it appears that SEA100KVM (one of our KVM VPS host nodes in Seattle) is still experiencing hardware issues despite our recent efforts. In this case, we have determined that the best resolution path in this case would be to "drain" this hypervisor and retire it, by migrating all VMs over to a new and stable hypervisor. We are working on migrating all VMs hosted on this server over to another hypervisor (SEA142KVM) to help ensure stability. No IP changes will be needed and all data will be migrated intact seamlessly. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an exact ETA for individual migrations but we expect all migrations from SEA100KVM -> SEA142KVM to be completed within the next 24 hours or less.

You can watch this video to learn what node name your VPS is hosted on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXZhXkjSSdg -- once it no longer shows "SEA100KVM" you will know the migration has been completed for your particular VPS instance.

UPDATE: All migrations have been completed to SEA142KVM, and SEA100KVM is now officially retired and put out of production. We are now closing this incident as resolved. If you are still experiencing any issues, or if you have any questions, please feel free to open a support ticket.

Dallas Datacenter OUTAGE - DAL111KVM

We are aware that DAL111KVM is currently experiencing connectivity issues. We are currently looking into this node further and will provide additional updates on this matter once we have more information.

UPDATE: This is now resolved. If you are still experiencing any issues please open a support ticket and we'd be happy to assist.

Los Angeles DC-02 Los Angeles DC-02 - Partial Network Outage (section: nerd5)

We are aware that there is a partial network outage in our Los Angeles DC-02 facility - specifically, the nodes located in the "nerd5" section of the datacenter (aka node names with the word "nerd5" contained within the node name). It appears to be a networking-related issue that is impacting certain inbound routes, and the issue appears to be isolated to nodes within this section only. Network engineers at the upstream have been engaged, and are investigating it.

We greatly appreciate your patience while we work to implement a permanent resolution for this. We will share additional updates within this status incident once we have additional information available to share.

UPDATE: This is now resolved. If you are still experiencing any issues please open a support ticket and we'd be happy to assist.

Seattle Datacenter SEA100KVM (one KVM VPS host node in Seattle)

We are investigating a potential hardware issue with SEA100KVM - one of our KVM VPS host nodes in Seattle. We will update this status incident with additional information once available.

In the meantime, please note that you may notice intermittent connectivity if you have a VPS hosted on this node.

UPDATE: This issue is still being actively worked on. We appreciate your patience.

UPDATE: SEA100KVM is experiencing instability due to multiple hardware issues. Our investigation indicates that the motherboard and CPU are likely the source of the problem. We want to assure you that data integrity is not at risk, and storage systems remain unaffected. Our team is actively working closely with the Seattle datacenter remote hands team on resolving these hardware complications to restore full functionality.

We appreciate your patience and will provide further updates as we make progress.

UPDATE: We have completed work on replacing the faulty hardware components and the server is in a stable condition.

UPDATE: We may need to reboot this server one last time to apply some updates. We will update once we are fully completed with our work on this host node.

UPDATE Aug/4/2024 10:30 AM PDT:

We have successfully transplanted the drives on SEA100KVM over to another physical server, eliminating all hardware issues. The server is now stable with all data/settings intact; however, we've detected intermittent packet loss following the transplant operation.

This appears to be an unrelated issue or a networking conflict that emerged during or after the transfer process. As such, it is no longer considered a hardware problem, and this is not connected to the original hardware problem. We have escalated this matter to our upstream's Engineering team to review.

Current Status:

  • The physical server is stable from a hardware perspective
  • Your virtual machine (VM) should be accessible
  • You may experience minimal packet loss, but overall functionality should not be significantly impacted

We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide another update once the issue is fully resolved. We appreciate your patience during this process.

If you experience any critical issues, please don't hesitate to contact our support team.

UPDATE Aug/4/2024 6:00 PM PDT: Status: Resolved

The numerous issues affecting SEA100KVM has been resolved. All services have been restored to normal operation. We will continue to closely monitor the stability of this node to ensure optimal performance. Thank you for your patience during this incident.
